Give in to the temptation of Dahlias
Gardens or pots: dahlias are great in both
Dahlias are summer-flowering bulbs. (Although they are actually tubers, most people just call them bulbs for the sake of simplicity). To enjoy these incredibly beautiful flowers during summer, their bulbs have to be planted in the spring. The deadline for planting them is the end of May. They can be planted in pots to make your patio or balcony inviting. Or find a nice place for them in your garden. Can’t make a choice between your garden or in a pot? It makes no difference because either makes a great choice.
Fascinating growth process
Once the bulbs are in the ground, a fascinating growth process begins. It may look as if the bulbs are just waiting around, but appearances can be deceptive. This is because even before summer starts, all the parts of the plant are already formed inside the bulb. The first shoots will then slowly peek above the soil surface so that the dahlias can begin their beautiful display of flowers in July. And flowering can continue all the way into October.
