In 1880, Willem Ruigrok began growing fruits and vegetables in De Zilk, in the Netherlands in what would become the heart of today’s Dutch flower bulb district. At the same time, he also started a small flower bulb nursery. We first started growing tulip bulbs and trading at a professional level in 1990, the beginning of a flourishing family business!

Today, Ruigrok Flowerbulbs is run by Simon and Lian and their sons Carlo and Philip Ruigrok. As 5th generation bulb farmers, we’re proud to say we’ve got all the knowledge and experience needed to run a successful flower bulb nursery and export company.
We currently farm over 300 acres of tulips, hyacinths and daffodil bulbs at several locations throughout the Dutch flower bulb region, the ideal place to grow flower bulbs. Our specialty lies in growing Darwin Hybrid and Triumph tulip bulbs and Oriental hyacinths. All other varieties in our assortment we purchase with remarkable partner growers. This allows us to offer the industries most extensive assortment of spring flowering bulbs. Top size bulbs and premium quality always.

The United States and Canada are our most important markets. We’ve been shipping bulbs to the North American market since 1946 and have grown to one of the biggest flower bulbs suppliers in the US today, shipping millions of bulbs every year. We ship our flower bulbs directly from our warehouse in the Netherlands to your doorstep and carry the industry’s largest fall bulb inventory with our partner ADR Bulbs in Chester, NY. The ideal location for quick delivery throughout the East Coast.
All of our bulbs and tubers are top size only and go thru a rigorous inspection process (including MRI scanning and USDA and Canadian pre-inspection) prior to export.

Ruigrok Flowerbulbs only deals in true to name bulbs of the highest quality and size. We believe in: “bigger is better”: Our tulips for instance are sized 12/+, our daffodils are 14/16’s or 12/14’s and our hyacinths are 16/17’s. All our bulbs are quality checked by our staff, using the most modern techniques and machines. Bulbs are inspected by the Dutch, Canadian and US departments of Agriculture prior to export.
We stand by our product 100% and guarantee that they will arrive in optimal condition and will give you optimal growing results. Should this not be the case, we will replace them, no questions asked.

Sustainable
practice
Looking at the future we have installed a total of 3.500 solar panels on the roof of our warehouses which are yearly producing about 12,5 mega watts of electricity. Our new heat power exchanger will help us use heat our bulb storing facilities with sustainable energy. Being MPS certified, we monitor our working processes to secure working conditions and environmental safety.
Our bulbs are not treated with neonicotinoids. Pesticide use is heavily regulated in the Netherlands and extensive research has been done on this topic. We 100% guarantee our bulbs to be viable, healthy and free from injurious insects and disease upon receipt. We guarantee that all our bulbs are grown from cultivated stock

Shipping bulbs in the fall
The earlier you order, the more varieties of your choice will be available. Early orders will be shipped directly from our farm in the Netherlands. Of course, we will see to it that you will not receive your bulb order before the soil temperatures are below 55° F.
Customers in Canada
We ship directly to you from our farm in the Netherlands. Due to difficulties in shipping foreign products from the USA to Canada, we are not able to serve you from our NY warehouse. Please contact us for availability and shipping options any time
